Hudson - Against The Grain

Zac Rusagara

It’s not often that someone makes me excited about stationery, but this video has done just that. Other than reminding me of a bygone time when having colour pencils in my bag was essential, it made want to go and create my own stop motion film. Good thing there is already a post that teaches you how to create your own stop motion!

This video was developed for Australian indie singer-songwriter Hudson's new song, which makes use of colouring pencils created by animator Dropbear. it shows how you can take something totally “normal and boring” and turn it into something exciting.

The song's called ‘Against The Grain'- it’s actually a really cool song even without the awesome video to accompany it. I especially love how the pencils become the equalizer and follow along to the beats of the music. Can you imagine how insanely difficult this was to get right, not to mention the amount of time and patience it requires to do something like this?

Here is the behind the scenes clip.

Listen, watch, enjoy and spread the awesomeness!
