National Geographic

Zac Rusagara

By far the coolest campaign I have seen in a long time, not to mention that it’s even cooler for being interactive! National Geographic might not be the most sought after client, but they sure do some cool stuff.  This came out of Hungary and was placed in shopping centres. It’s basically an augmented reality installation that lets people passing by interact with the type of content they would find on the National Geographic channel.

How does it work? Pretty simple: there is a huge digital screen and a high-powered camera in front of an AR marker that is stuck to the ground. So, as people step onto the marker, the content that is on the screen comes to life on the digital screen in front of them.

What do you think of it?
