How To Make A Wildlife Film On An iPhone

Daniel Neville

Occasionally you stumble across something that is just cool and this is one of those occasions. Introducing the worlds first wildlife documentary shot and edited entirely on the iPhone 4. If its not immediately obvious why this is cool then you haven't been paying much attention to the way media production is evolving - and if you have, you will realise this is VERY cool.

iShamwari

The wildlife film, titled iShamwari, was shot, directed and edited by Jesse Desjardins in collaboration with the Shamwari game reserve in South Africa. The reasons for doing so? Well in Jesse's own words:

"I wanted to make a wildlife documentary that my friends would want to watch. Most are on Facebook at work, so with the boss just around the corner I made each video around 2-3 minutes long"

The entire film was shot over 3 days and edited while Jesse was still on the road. You can check out all the footage (there are 13 videos in total) at Facebook.com/iShamwari and the full press release on the project below.
