Triumph International - Gimmick Bra's

Daniel Neville

Its a Monday morning so I thought I would post something that slightly more on the odd side of things for a change. The Japanese branch of German lingerie maker Triumph International has a very unique way of promoting their product. Instead of rolling out the normal traditional print and television campaigns with witty lines about how much 'support' their bras give, they every once and a while roll out a new gimmick bra. Here are a couple of the best ones that they have produced lately.

The Welcome Bra

The Welcome Bra

"The Welcome Bra" was created to provide a visual aid for tourists who are looking for famous landmarks around the country with an aim to promote tourism. The bra has a holder on the stomach for images of major tourist spots such as Mt. Fuji. A matching skirt them flips up to reveal a map of Japan. The bra will also welcome you to Japan in English, Korean and Chinese. According to Triumph spokeswoman Yoshiko Masude they can up with the bra "in the hopes of further boosting tourism, and the economy, in Japan." Check out a video of the bra here.

The Eco-friendly Solar Bra

Ladies, take your battle for the environment a little closer to your heart with a solar-powered bra that can generate enough electric energy to charge a mobile phone or an iPod. The panel requires light to generate electricity and the concept bra will not be in stores anytime soon, said Triumph spokeswoman Yoshiko Masuda, as “people usually can not go outside without wearing clothes over it.”

The Golf Bra

The Golf Bra

The Gold Bra is a green corset-style garment that can be removed and unrolled to create a 1.5m-long putting mat! And if this was not enough when the user sinks a putt into one of the cups, a built-in speaker pumps out a congratulatory “Nice shot!" The bra also features pockets for extra golf balls and tees, a detachable flag pin that serves as a score pencil and a skirt with the words “Be Quiet” printed on the rear, which doubles up as a flag for use on the course.

The Chopstick Bra

The Chopstick Bra

This bra was created in order to raise awareness for a very important environmental cause. The problem will be familiar to anyone who has been bouncing around Japan recently. It’s that the disposable chopsticks market is causing the beautiful hills in countries around Southeast Asia to be stripped bare of forests. Deforestation. Yup. Well, have no fear – Triumph’s ridiculously gimmicky answer to the problem is the Chopsticks Bra. The bra comes fitted with a pair of reusable chopsticks that a placed into 'holsters' situated on the sides of the cups - this way not only are you being eco-friendly but the chopsticks also hep to push up the breasts for better cleavage - ingenious no?

So thats all from the world of odd bras for the moment - having said that it looks like Triumph is on a roll here. Its going to be interesting to see what they come up with next!
