Stop Motion Wednesday - GAME OVER PROJECT
Daniel Neville
Occasionally you come across a project that is just so awesome you wish it would not stop - the Game Over Project is one of these. Developed by French-Swiss artist Guillaume Reymond the project consists of a series of collaborative animation movies which revive some of the very first video games - some of them games that took hours of my life when I was younger.
The pixels are replaced by a group of real human-beings that are moving from seat to seat in a theatre during a shoot that apparently lasts about 4 to 6 hours - obviously Guillaume then takes the footage from these shoots and makes them into the stunning pieces of stop motion work you see below - giant human scale video games, what could be cooler? So far Guillaume has produced four of these master pieces and apparently there are plans for other performances inspired by other games that are currently under development - I cant wait.
