Stop Motion Wednesday - Vincent by Tim Burton
Mari Basson
I haven’t posted anything in a while, so I thought I’d make a come back with a bang. This bang comes in form of a beautiful stop motion from an artistic genius, Tim Burton. It’s called Vincent. Vincent is Burton’s first film ever released (way back in 1982). It’s based on a poem by Tim Burton himself - which tells the tale of a boy called Vincent Malloy who wanted to be like his idol, Vincent Price (long time idol of Burton too). What makes this stop motion even more wonderful is that it is narrated by Vincent Price himself.
A beyond lovely stop motion indeed, and something Tim Burton himself calls “probably one of the most shaping experiences of my life.” Enjoy.
