Jims Pancakes
Daniel Neville
Sometimes you come across an idea that is not only creative but entirely edible and perfect for a bit of Monday morning inspiration. This is where I introduce you to Jim and his pancakes... or let Jim introduce himself: “My name is Jim and I like to make pancakes for my Daughter, Allison. She seems to like them, but, being 3 I don’t think she really cares too much. My dad used to make me really fun shaped pancakes like “The Moon,” “Lightbulb,” and “Balloon” so I guess I can credit his genius.”
When it comes to style and creativity Jim seems to be king of the pancake world, even straying into fully 3D rendered objects (or as Jim calls it "pancake civil engineering" ) made out of pancake like the Crane and Ferris Wheel below!
Jim has picked up some serious traction online and now has quite a few people following his blog, Twitter stream and Facebook page. The best thing about Jim's pancakes, apart from being amazing examples of creativity, is that he uploads both photos and video instructions that will allow you to replicate some of his creations. For a guy “just trying to make some cool pancakes for my daughter.” Jim has seriously upped the creatvity level of pancake art big time. If you are interested you can also subscribe to his newsletter for reciepiec, tricks and tips as well as more ideas for creatve pancakes... Personally my two favorite ones, the Light Bulb and the Volcano - the Light Bulb should be ovbious and the volcano, well it delayed the arrival of my new MacBook and eating an effigy seems like the only revenge i'll get!
