Or NO RUNNING by César Díaz Meléndez as Google Translate points out, it is the first ever stop motion we feature created with sand! This beaut was showcased during the Digital Shortfilm Festival 2009.
Directed by César Díaz Meléndez who is also the base guitarist for a band called El Combolinga – responsible for the song featured in this video (he plays in a lovely band AND he’s a sand artist/filmmaker? He got my attention, I’m jealous). This may also remind you of the beautiful sand animation by Ukraine’s Got Talent performer , Kseniya Simonova.
What strikes me most about Meléndez’s video is the fluidity with which images morph into each other – adding that touch of surprise, that doesn’t feel like a surprise at all, but instead like a very natural transgression.
