Stop Motion Wednesday - SkateBoardAnimation
Daniel Neville
There are many animations out there that attempt to create an aesthetic that is reminiscent of those cut out collage pictures that you always had to make as a kid. Sometime the effect is done just right and you somehow get the feeling that you are peering into a £D world that is entirely 2D and other times it just looks so... well flat.
But what happens when some actually does spend time cutting out magazines and using these cut out images (in this case of skate sequences - example below) to create a spot motion film that is definitely worth taking note of.
Tilles Singer did just that - using a range of digital photos that he sourced off the Internet and hundreds of human figures cut out of real life magazines he created one of the coolest little 2D stop motion films I have seen in a while. Whats really awesome is that he has managed to keep the energy and feel of a proper skating movie - brilliant!
