Stop Motion Wednesday: GIG by Brain Goss
Daniel Neville
Sometimes you just stumble across something that grabs your attention - this weeks stop motion is a very good example of one of these moments. We have featured the work of artist/filmmaker Tobias Stretch on Idea Bounty before due to his epic stop motion film making skills. So when an email from Dawn Cardinale (Who produced this weeks stop motion) landed in my inbox I was expecting something brilliant.
As you may agree the above is anything but dissapointing. Following on from his past films Tobias creates a wonderful symbiosis between sound and imagery which resulats in music videos that stand out and pull you in. I had never heard Brian Goss's music before seeing this video and im definitely going to check him out, which is a testiment to Tobias's ability to marry imagery and music so well. Over all GIG has a much tighter narrative than some of Tobias's pervious work and the characters and puppets are out of this world... Really looking forward to Tobias gaining the full recognition he deserves.
