
Stop Motion Wednesday - Science Machine

Todays stop motion is one that I stumbled across months ago now - There is no photography involved but instead thousands of screen shots condensed into a seven minute work of art. Basically 'Science Machine' is a 5 second by 5 second stop motion film of the login illustration for the video hosting platform Vimeo (brilliant site by the way) being drawn. It was created by Chad Pugh who was commissioned to do the job and apparently took over 80 hours of work.
Above is the illustration in print form - infact you can purchase one for yourself here - and I must say I am impressed with both the final product and the video. Taking a screen shot every five seconds while doing an illustration is such a simple yet effective idea. It is amazing to watch a drawing grow and evolve like this - it feels almost special to be let into someone's creative process like this:
