Stop Motion Wednesday : Amazon Kindle Commercial
Daniel Neville
All of the stop motion work we have featured on the Idea Bounty blog this year has mostly been produced as fun projects and expressions of creativity - and the occasional music video. But this week our featured stop motion was intended to be an advert from the word go.
This awesome bit of work attempts to take a different approach to selling e-readers. Most ads out there spend alot of time trying to explain how the technology works - but Amazon decides to actually show you how using their e-reader (the Kindle) can spark your imagination... which is a quality books have had well, since they first came into existence.
The ad is brilliantly conceived and was directed by Angela Kohlerand and Ithyle Griffiths - both do amazing solo work too. The song is called 'Fly Me Away' by Annie Little who also stars in the ad. Check out her MySpace page here.
The coolest thing about this stop motion: it was actually part of a competition held to promote the Kindle and it won! Could you tell? All I can say is never under estimate the power of user generated content!

I love it too. Reminds me of 'her morning elegance', but still very well done. I dig the song too, it was written for the ad especially and ties everything together beautifully.
Thanks for your comment!

I like it in the sense that it refers to a previous blog we saw. The song could be better but thats the advertisers ear which is not speciallly trained.
Fancy a trained ear and you have a melody ringing in your ear...
Nearly works...
