Idea Bounty At Media140 London

Daniel Neville

The real-time web is dramatically changing the way we communicate, socialise and do business globally. Media140  is a global media movement creating events with the best minds in journalism, advertising, politics and entertainment exploring real-time platforms such as Twitter to really understand the impacts.

Media140

The Media140 conferences dont just focus on Twitter but look at all the real-time platforms that are now beginning to affect business and consumers: to foster discourse, collaboration and innovation within journalism, media, advertising, entertainment, marketing, PR, gaming and technology industries.

In October Idea Bounty was invited - along with the Peperami team from Unilever - to give a presentation on crowdsourcing creative Ideas at the London Media140 conference. One of Idea Bounty's founding members Nic Ray gave the key note speech along with Noam Butchalter, marketing manager of Peperami.  Even if we say so ourselves it was a very interesting presentation - so here is it in its entirety!

We would love to know what you think of the presentation and some of the points made - add your comments below! If you would like to know more about Media140 you can check them out on Twitter, Vimeo (for more presentations and debates) and on their website.

I thought that was very interesting. Well presented too. Something in the back of my mind wanted to be negative because I didnt win, thought I stood a good chance and can be a brat like all creatives. But the awards given out meant I was given a pat on the back and felt part of the campaign(the idea bounty posts are supportive and positive as well) and although there was no money at the end of this rainbow I have been given the opportunity to post this message in self promotion(see links)....The best ideas win. Thats a great challenge, insentive and has sharpened my skills. Last year I was paid good money for a job with an ad company who's client changed their brief at the last minute (as they do) and was left with some money but a feeling that someone had painted over a wall I had just finished with a different colour....
Here it is more of an exciting free for all and the worst case scenario a way of honing skills...
At least some team of shirts and ties with no creative individuality didnt get the campaign!! Thats what normally happens and the results are on television every minute(I dont own one but I am still scarred)....
As I said I am shamelessly plugging away but then I dont get paid (consistently) to do the things I love yet. Here I have a chance of perfecting my methods. Thanks again RW Hedges
