Fun Can Change the World
Mari Basson
A while ago our Idea Bounty Captain Dan tweeted The Fun Theory Piano Stairs viral from the Idea Bounty Twitter account, probably because he thought it was a spectacular idea... which it is.
I later learned that The Fun Theory is infact a Volkswagen initiative. TheFunTheory.com is a site dedicated to the idea that if something’s fun to do it can change people’s behaviour for the better, whether it’s for yourself or the environment. Because let’s face it staying fit or healthy and recycling is rarely ever fun.
But if the stairs we’re actually a piano, you’d ditch it for the escalator and if the bottle bank was an arcade machine, you’d be a recycling fan. The “world’s deepest rubbish bin” for instance would collect 72kg of rubbish in one day – that’s about four 5 year olds. Check out the videos, they made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside:
The Fun Theory is currently looking for entries that prove the Fun Theory. These 3 videos are great examples of what you can do. So get to it: spread the word, the good vibe and the fun. The first prize gets you some cold hard cash... now that will be fun.
