Stop Motion Wednesday: Videogioco by Donato Sansone
Mari Basson
I’m always blown away by the immense effort and time that goes into some stop motion films. This is no exception. Today’s Stop Motion Wednesday spot belongs to Donato Sansone and thank god this man had too much time on his hands.
Donato Sansone is a bit of a dark horse, but I did manage to find a few other projects by the 34 year old including mutandinafina and cazzone amongst a few others. By the looks of it he has pretty strange taste and style, which is definitely not suitable for sensitive viewers (you’ve been warned, it’s shocking).
Videogioco, however is a masterpiece – very graphic and to some perhaps slightly disturbing, yes, but nonetheless brilliant. He used an entire room to assemble a series of wonderfully untidy illustrated flip books. Sansone’s violent finger action releases a comic book fury that explodes all over the place. And the sitcom inspired sound by Enrico Ascoli finishes it off perfectly... Enjoy.

So awesome... the mind boggles at the planning that must have gone into that one.
