Stop Motion Wednesday: “The adventure of Olga’s Story”
Daniel Neville
Often stop motion films are made by amateurs - which makes their creativity all the more impressive. It never ceases to surprise me how many different approaches to making a stop motion film there are.
This week's stop motion is a film by a group who reside on YouTube, called SunnySideUpFilm. They present an awesome little film about a girl called Olga who daydreams about one wacky adventure through a brilliantly designed set. I love the split style between reality and dream world - the materials and direction is not too shabby either. There also seems to be a fascination with water lately - although I think the way it was pulled off in last weeks animation "Sorry I'm Late" was utter genius.
Over all “The adventure of Olga’s Story” is an awesome little stop motion - Enjoy!
If you are interested here is a great look at how it was done - half the fun in my opinion - check out this making of/time-lapse taken while shooting. Basically it's two hours of the shoot squeezed into less than a minute - quite something to watch.
