Red Bull Announces $5000 Bounty Winner
Daniel Neville

So after much deliberation by the Red Bull team the drinking ritual that made it out on top from the eight finalists was the KissaBULL by Joanne Huysamen!
Congratulations Joanne! Very very nicely done and we really hope you have fun playing with that $5000.
With Joanne being the biggest bounty winner so far we decided to have a bit of a chat with her. Read on to find out about the lady behind the idea.
For the record, what were the first things that went through your head when you were called with the news?
To be honest, I was stunned and I’m not sure anything coherent was going through my mind! I remember trying to figure out why you were calling and then I just couldn’t believe it and had to keep asking if it was real. It’s the first thing I’ve ever won, but well worth the wait!
Tell us about your past and current day job/ jobs - apparently you are an extremely busy and multi-talented person.
Over the past 10 years I worked for an entertainment magazine and in publicity for a book publisher; I now run my own business doing Publicity and Event Co-Ordination. I also work a few hours a week with a kid with ADHD, which is extremely rewarding. I also do work as a freelance writer and part-time photographer.
What made you decide to enter Idea Bounty? What’s the Idea Bounty attraction?
For the money? Only kidding! I love doing creative things and I love a challenge… it’s what made me go into event management. My work is a lot of fun and I get to be inventive and there is a tremendous sense of achievement that I get from it all.
When I came across Idea Bounty it just seemed like the perfect outlet for some of that energy. I also liked the duality of the name. It was a place where a creative person could get a Bounty for an idea and where a client could find a bountiful supply of ideas. It was fun and appealing and so easy to use.
The attraction? That’s easy. The idea that you could get real recognition for an original idea on a potentially global scale.
You dabbled a bit in events management - do you think this might have helped in coming up with a winning drinking ritual?
I think anyone is capable of tapping into their creative side, no matter what they do on a day to day basis. Of course, being involved in events means that I have to be able to get to the heart of a brief and think creatively to see if I can fulfill it effectively, so this may have helped after all.
Any plans for the $5000?
As it happens, I’ve been planning an overseas trip later in the year and this is going a long way towards my dream holiday. First one in 10 years!
We heard that you have some talent with the pen and have even had your poetry published in 6 countries - care to compose a Haiku about Idea Bounty?
Well, haiku isn’t really my thing, but I’ll give it a go…
Pirates of the web,
Their bounty they gladly share,
Dreams to bring to life.
Here’s one on Red Bull just for fun
See the wing’ed Bull,
As the world he conquers now,
Refreshing us all.
Lastly you mentioned that you are into photography, are there any websites you enjoy visiting for inspiration?
It’s true, I love photography. I love capturing the beauty in a moment, the unusual, the imaginative. It’s something that can inspire or reward someone, preserve a memory, touch the soul. There is nothing I like more than losing myself in the pursuit of an image that evokes an emotion. I look for inspiration around me, but if I had to pick one that I do enjoy visiting often, I’d have to say Flickr.
Joanne definitely has some talent behind the lens - check out some of her photos below and visit her Flickr page here.

Hi Galen,
We cant show the winning ideas until they have been implemented by the clients.
super super congratulations and impressive pics !
Well done girl !
Cant wait to see !
Thanks guys!!
Hi,
congrats Joanne.
Ideabounty, it will be of great value to us if past ideas are published after it has been implemented by the client. i mean like an archive.
Hi Deji,
Thanks for the comment - yes a archive is something we are definitely working on implementing (along with the ability for registered users to create their own portfolio of ideas) unfortunately due to the way Idea Bounty was originally set up from a legal perspective it is taking us longer than we would like. But keep your eyes peeled it will appear soon!

Do/will you ever share the actual winning ideas of these lucky creatives?
