The Second Ever Idea Bounty Cheque Mission

Daniel Neville

We hope to make this a tradition here at Idea Bounty – that is making crazy missions with giant cheques in order to deliver the good news to our bounty winners. The first giant cheque mission saw Matt battling his way through public transport under the English channel – more about that mission here. Although getting a giant cheque to our second bounty winner (for the Levis brief) didn't require us to travel large distances, it was just as much fun. Here follows a detailed account of our morning:

Chantelle Schmidlin already knew she had won the Levi’s bounty – check out this interview with her. Kat and I decided that if we were in her shoes we would still want a giant cheque - even if it is delivered at 7am!

Our first port of call was a garage cafe to purchase some coffee and croissants for our winner. We thought she might not be completely happy with being woken up by two strangers, despite the giant cheque for $3000, and that coffee would make it all better.

Buying Coffee

Hmmm...coffee - giant cheque in tow.

And then buying Croissants

Croissants! And strange looks from the garage staff.

Next came our mission – and boy did we raise some funny looks from passers by.

Map books – always good for finding your way.

Scenery in Cape Town

Beautiful Cape Town scenery on our way to Chantelle's.

Dan with Cheque

We couldn't help but stop along the way for some amazing views – doesn't that cheque look sexy?

Lessons learned: never try hitching a lift with a giant cheque – people only end up hooting.

Finally we got to Chantelle's house - luckily she was awake and over the moon when she saw what we had bought her. I’m still convinced it was the coffee that made her so happy.

Chantelle see's the cheque

Chantelle sees her prize up close for the first time

The happiest person at 7 in the morning!

You see the coffee was amazing!

And so ended the second ever giant cheque mission – watch this space, the third one is on its way!
