Dark Humour in Design
Katharina Scholtz
Audre Lorde said that our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge. Luckily, or unluckily for you, I’m not feeling so shiny today, and have channelled this into a search for some examples of dark humour in design.
I was interested to see how people with the skill to create something tangible manage negative emotions to create something that is unique, gets noticed and people want to have in their homes (ok, well certain kinds of freaky people like me). The balance between darkness and humour is a tough one to strike.
Hopefully you find these interesting, and if not, I'll use the following quote as my disclaimer:
Humour is the absence of terror, and terror the absence of humour.
