Absolute Inspire: Augmented Reality Art

by Daniel Neville on 2012/05/07

So its not often that we feature something on this blog that is a concept rather than an executed idea but this one was so good I could not resist. This idea was an entry to the Future Lions 2012 and is a proposal for an augmented reality art app for Absolute Vodka. The app basically allows you to create a 'new world' without limitations and works with the help of Google Street View.

Sure this is not the most original app out there - the idea of being able to create your own digital street art has been see before but the integration with the Absolute brand and everything we know and love about the brand is just brilliant - just shows how digitally native all the up and coming creatives are!

Durex Performax Intense

by Zac Rusagara on 2012/05/04

When it comes to advertising, it seems that many ads have a sexual aspect to them – either to make them appealing or draw attention to itself, just check out this banned Axe ad for example.  But when it comes to advertising sex itself, not many will turn to innuendos or even include any ‘sexiness’ in the ads. Take a look at the latest from EURO RSCG for Durex.

Essentially using two turntables, one male and one female, durex shows how their new condom the Performax Intense will slow him down while speeding her up, so that the couple can climax together.

Other than the print and TV ad, the also took this online with the In Sync Facebook game that features a number of well-known songs that people had to play at the correct speed in order to hear it correctly. Couples had to stay in sync for at least 10 seconds in order to hear the song properly.

I love the shareability of this campaign and most of all how interactive it is. After all that is what sex is all about no? What’s your take on this campaign?

Amorok Facebook Flipbook

by Daniel Neville on 2012/04/30

A couple of weeks ago I posted about the SMART Car twitter animation ads - basically a digital version of the old school animation flipbook but housed in Twitter. Now, Volkswagen has done something similar but this time by making use of the Facebook photo gallery. Together more than 200 images create an incredibly well put together circular journey that shows the Volkswagen Amarok easily handling a variety of landscapes. I love that they have created something that only really works in Facebook, well you can check it out below as a video too.

If you want to see the Amorok Flipbook in all its glory you can see it here - just hold down the right arrow on your keyboard and watch the magic happen.
